A few weeks ago I went camping with some friends up in Northampton. The field we were staying in used to be part of a larger farm estate once owned by my friend's parents. It turns out that there has been much archaeological interest in this field over the years, including a visit from Channel Four's Time Team.

While we were staying there one of the local farmers discovered a dagger (pictured above) in the field. Archaeologists have been examining the find and on first inspection they believe it be a thirteenth century nobleman's dagger. A thorough analysis is now underway. Thanks to Joe for the update and I'll report back on any further developments.
